Visitors for December 10-12
[Pictured: Tygee Hill, DT Karr]
Tulane had another crop of recruits on campus this weekend highlighted by 4 star DT Tygee Hill as well as several potential P5 transfers. Here is a list of players who made the trip.
Tygee Hill, DT Edna Karr (LSU Commit) Hill, the 4 star prospect from Edna Karr has been tweeting about Tulane a lot lately. Hill’s offer list is very impressive and includes Florida, Miami, Florida State, Texas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee and a little school called Alabama. While Hill reportedly enjoyed his visit, he will not be easy to flip. With the recent LSU staff turnover, he could be in play.
Cadien Robinson, CB Rockwell HS in Texas (Tulane Commit) Robinson has great height, length and athleticism. He has been recruited by SMU as well as several FCS schools and was offered as a preferred walk-on at Texas. Robinson has the type of frame where when he fills out and gets in a college weightlifting program, he could really take off. With some additional weight would have position versatility with the ability to play safety or nickel.
Kameron Hamilton, DL Zachary HS Hamilton is a late riser from Zachary who has the frame and ability to play either OL or DL at the next level. Hamilton was recently offered by Southeastern.
Alex Bauman, ATH from Red Bank Catholic, NJ Bauman is a 6’4 230 lb TE/DE from the Northeast. Bauman has a pretty impressive offer list including Notre Dame, Boston College, Rutgers, Wake Forest and others.
Jack Latore, DL Middletown, NJ Latore has offers from many of the Ivy League schools as well as Temple and Army. At nearly 6’5 and 240 lbs and sporting an 82 inch wingspan, Latore has the ideal size and length to play either DE or OT.
Sully Burns, OT Plano, TX Burns is a massive 6’6 300 lb tackle with the kind of length that Tulane has been missing at tackle. Burns has offers from FIU and Louisiana Tech and has recently been pursued by Texas Tech and North Texas.
Transfers:
Lawrence Keys, WR Notre Dame (Tulane Commit) Keys, a former McDonough 35 product, never got a chance to take off in Notre Dame’s offense. Keys has the type of wiggle and speed that Tulane’s current crop of receivers lack. Keys has two years of eligibility remaining.
Ashaad Clayton, RB Colorado Clayton, who prepped at Warren Easton, entered the transfer portal after two seasons with Colorado. Almost immediately after Clayton’s arrival, Mel Tucker left for Michigan State and one has to wonder if Clayton would have opted for the Buffaloes had he known Karl Dorrel was going to be his coach. Clayton is going to be a rare 3rd year RS Freshman next year because of COVID. While there are reports that he committed to Tulane, he has yet to publicly confirm or deny those reports.
Deajaun McDougle, WR Maryland McDougle, a former teammate of Michael Pratt is transferring from Maryland after two seasons. McDougle was not afforded much of an opportunity with the Terrapins and a change of scenery was needed. McDougle is another who has allegedly committed to Tulane, but I’m going to hold off on calling him a commitment as neither his post nor the edit he posted actually indicate he is committed. Still, Tulane has a great shot here. McDougle has 4 years of eligibility remaining.
Shaundre Mims, DL Charleston Southern Mims had a great season recording 58 tackles, 8 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss, the latter two stats would have led the Green Wave in 2021. Mims is a bit undersized at 6’0 270 lbs, but he’s extremely active and disruptive. Mims has a host of FCS offers as well as Western Kentucky, Bowling Green and Western Michigan. Mims has one year of eligibility remaining.
JH Tevis, DL California Tevis played the 5 technique for Cal at 6’4 280 lbs. He recorded 37 tackles, 5.5 TFL and a sack in 2021. While Tevis has played at Cal for 4 years, he’d have 2 years remaining because of COVID. Tevis also took an official visit to Indiana.
