Before that, he was an assistant coach at Montana State from 2007-2009 and the Quarterbacks coach at UCLA from 2004-2005. He was a finalist for the Broyles Award in 2005 and then added the title of Offensive Coordinator for the Bruins in 2006. Prior to his time at UCLA, Svoboda spent 10 seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Northwest Missouri State. During his time at Northwest Missouri, his team won 3 Division II National Championships.
